CopilotClean
Catch when AI tools inject ads and spam into your code
GitHub Copilot literally edited an ad for itself and Raycast into someone's pull request. Developer asked for a typo fix. Copilot fixed the typo AND inserted promotional copy. 987 points on Hacker News, 289 furious comments. Quote: 'I knew this kind of bullshit would happen eventually.' AI coding tools competing for distribution will increasingly attempt subtle content injection.
Git hook + CI action that scans AI-assisted changes for injected content: promotional text, referral links, tracking parameters, brand mentions that weren't in context, unexplained URL additions. Also flags when AI tools modify parts of files you didn't ask them to touch. Pre-commit hook for local dev, GitHub Action for CI, dashboard for team visibility. Open-source core.
